Meet Dr. Tarek
Dr. Elshebiny is concerned about the overall wellbeing of each patient and strives to deliver a treatment experience that gives the person the smile they desire, as well as lasting function and improved oral health.
His goal is to provide fully personalized, individual-centered orthodontics, and ensure each patient achieves an optimally healthy, functional, and pleasing smile.
Education and Experience
Dr. Elshebiny completed a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS); he then earned his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and Certificate in Orthodontics from Case Western Reserve University Dental School.
Upon completion of his orthodontic training, he joined Rainbow Babies & Children Hospital for a Craniofacial, Surgical, and Special Care Orthodontic Fellowship. This specialized training allows him to better serve the needs craniofacial community.
Dr. Elshebiny received the:
- Sanford Neuger Award for Clinical Excellence from the Orthodontic Department at Case Western Dental School
- Research Aid Award from the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation
- Craniofacial Training Award for 2017
In addition to private practice at T Smile Orthodontics, Dr. Elshebiny serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve Dental School. He has also published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed orthodontic journals and lectures nationally and internationally.
He is an active member of the:

Facially-Guided Orthodontics
No longer is orthodontic treatment just treating the smile by straightening teeth. Dr. Elshebiny’s unique approach to orthodontics looks at the whole of the person’s head and face. He analyzes the position of the patient’s teeth in relation to their face and then designs treatment to improve the individual’s bite, along with their smile. Not only are the smile results stunning, the improvements in the individual’s health and function are equally lasting and impactful.
Beyond the practice and teaching, Dr. Elshebiny enjoys playing soccer, working out, and time with his wife Mai Salama and their family and friends.
